It is natural you are worried about your mother´s surgery - who would not? But I believe you wrote about your mother´s good condition, so hopefully she will be all right. And the life...well, who knows? But it would be not good nor useful to thing only about bad scenarios. We live NOW and we have to try and live well NOW. I mean . we can all be useful in a way.
