I was deeply shocked by the video of the huge glacier collapse in Switzerland. I have visited or seen the similar beautiful valleys on my several trips to Switzerland, and can imagine the beauty and the quietude the village Blatten have had, now they are all gone. And I can never imagine how horrible and dreadfully threatening the disaster was. In such tranquil, picturesque place! I just pray for the poor people there...

These poor people lost their homes and place where they belong and that is a tragedy, But they survived and this is what counts. I believe they will not remain without help...which is much better than to be a victim of a war...

Yes. Most of the villagers, even their domestic animals have evacuated before the disaster, it's quite impressive. And the Swiss is one of the cleverest and richest nation in the world, I'm sure the victims would have the essential help.
And you are right. In this changing world we have more than enough natural disasters, no need to raise the man-made ones!
