Royal Navy on a big screen
Jul. 24th, 2011 02:24 pmYesterday I went to a kind of off-line meeting of the people who have become acquaintances via internet. They are the people who likes The Royal Navy of Napoleonic Wars era, Admiral Nelson, sailing ships, or historical British drama etc, and we meet in Tokyo once for 2 months and enjoy watching DVD of sea adventure on a big screen. The organizer - a gentle big guy of his forties(maybe) - has the remarkable knowledge about the Royal Navy.
We enjoyed DVD of British TV drama "Hornblower" starring Ioan Gruffudd (the 7th episode "Loyalty" and 8th "Duty"), it's great to watch the good drama with friends who have the mutual interest and knowledge.

I have loved sailing ships, pirates, sea-going adventures... since I was a child when I have read "Treasure Island" for the first time and still now the images of sailing ships excite me very much.
