made a find
Apr. 17th, 2012 08:59 pmThe great French writer and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupery is one of my favorite authors. Though I can't read French at all we have some very good Japanese translations of his works here fortunately, I have loved his works like "Night Flight", "Pilote de guerre(Flight to Arras)" and "Terre des hommes(Wind, Sand and Stars)" for years.
And I've wanted to read his last, unfinished and maybe the greatest work, "Citadelle" for years. Its some translations are now all out of print and very expensive in the secondhand bookstores, I have borrowed it from the local library some times. But it's so long and difficult work that I could never finish it before the time limit.
Yesterday, on my way home from work I walked through the shopping centre and saw a temporary secondhand book market in the square. There I found a set of Saint-Exupery's works including 3 volumes of "Citadelle", they were old books but very clean inside, and priced amazingly reasonable!!
Of course I bought them and this big find pleased me very much, made me think this world is a wonderful place XD
I'm going to read them slowly and carefully...
