raccoooon ?????

Last night, around midnight. I was teethbrushing before going to bed and heard some strange sound from outside of the window. Our bathroom is facing our neighbour's garden with many small trees and plants so often we see or hear the homeless cats are playing or quarreling there. But it's not cat's cry though doubtless from some animals, and didn't cease for 10 or 1 minutes. First I looked out of the window but could not see anything so I went out to see what's wrong. Then ... I found something just other side of the small fence between our & the neighbour's property. I took photos, using a flash.

Raccoon is not the native animal in Japan but during last 50 years many pet raccoons have escaped and gone wild, they say. For me it's the first time to see it at such close range.
I like most of mammals, I think raccoon is cute, still I can't say I'm happy to see the one in our neighbourhood for they are the exotic animals here, it might cause many serious problems...


...And this is a photo I took today, a photo of ANOTHER homeless cats family, mom and 3 kittens in our garden! XD
