Washing hands

Since the beginning of Feb I’ve tried to wash my hands well with soap, and as often as I can - when I come home from outing or every time I use the bathroom etc. But, how many times a day do you wash your hands with soap usually? I also often use the hand cream but this frequent washing makes the skin of my hands dry then chap, now I put som Band-Aids on my chapped fingers. Very uncomfortable and inconvenient :(
