Visiting a new house
Dec. 25th, 2020 08:37 pmThis morning I took a half day off from my job and visited my friend’s parents’ house. They lost their house last year because of the typhoon. The strong wind of typhoon destroyed the roof of their house, heavy rain ruined most of the stuff in the house - furniture, clothes, everything. They had no choice but took down the whole house. I have helped them to clear the stuff in their damaged house then.
It’s really fortunate that they could get insurance with which they can build a new house. But, then, this pandemic came, in spring every business has stopped and they had to wait for months. In summer the construction of the new house has begun, and recently the house was completed.
They still live in their temporary home - a small apartment -, will move into the new house at the beginning of January. Today some new furniture they have bought recently was delivered and they showed me the house. It’s really good to know they - old parents of my friend - can move into their new, far smaller than before though nice house very soon. Also, I love looking into the houses of other people’s so I enjoyed the house tour! Most of the rooms are still empty, when I arrived a staff was setting some equipment in and outside of the house. Still it’s great fun to see the house.
And of course this house tour reminded me of the days when we moved into our current house nearly 7 years ago :)
