Travel plans in my mind
Mar. 20th, 2021 01:09 pmI like Google map, sometimes enjoy looking at the detailed map of the places I’d like to visit or stay on my holiday. It shows me nice hiking trails with hills and beaches, charming little towns - with photos!, and also gives me the information about accommodations and restaurants. It has the links to the websites of the hotels and shops, I sometimes visit them and choose which one is good place for me. I enjoy to imagine - I would stay in this small holiday cottage for some days, buy groceries in nearby this small shop for my breakfast and packed lunch, have dinner in this local pub etc. Last winter, yes before this pandemic, I have often looked at the maps of Cornwall, England for I had wanted to visit there on my next holiday. And unlike my former trips, I wanted to stay in just one place, not in the ordinary B&B but in small self catering cottage in some small town, and from there go for walking, or just enjoy relaxing with book when the weather is not good, no busy schedule to move to another places for sightseeing... I have even found one or two nice small cottages in small towns. Most of those “holiday cottages” are big enough for families but sometimes I could find small places for one or two people, suitable for me who usually travel by myself :) It’s an enjoyable pastime!
But recently, when I visited those towns on Google map, all information about some holiday cottage (Which I have liked very much) was gone. Maybe because of this pandemic and the lockdown the owner have closed the business. And I’m sure many nice and small hotels and restaurants might be closed also. This idea makes me feel sad.
Of course, when this would all end, when we won’t need to be afraid of the infection, many travel & hotel businesses would be back. But when? And I’m afraid that many things would not return forever.
Well... at least, looking at the maps and information, imagining my travel plans need no money X) I’ll try to find another good place to stay on my holiday though not sure at all about when it might be.
