Trip to Moji
Dec. 19th, 2021 10:08 pmThis morning I woke up very early, took the local train then bus going to the airport, and took an airplane - for the first time during these 22 months. Just 3 days but a trip! Visiting another city and staying in a hotel!
Now I’m in a hotel room with nice view in Moji, the port town at the north-east end of Kyusyu - the most south one of the 4 main islands of Japanese archipelago. I come here to see my friends living in Shimonoseki, the town at the west end of Honsyu (the main, long island of Japan). Moji and Shimonoseki are on the opposite sides of the strait, but it’s just (maybe) 30 minutes by train or 5 minutes by boat. And I found a nice hotel on the waterfront of Moji, so I decided to stay in Moji. No problem. My friends welcomed me at the bus stop in Shimonoseki, we together took a boat to come to Moji, spent enjoyable afternoon of walking, chatting and eating here, then they went back to Shimonoseki by train about 2 hours ago.
Moji is the old port town with some beautiful old Western style buildings just like some big port towns in Japan - my town Yokohama is one of them. We enjoyed to see those buildings.

And from my window. Tomorrow I and friend will meet again and walk around in Shimonoseki. But now it seems I need togo to bed…
