I want to travel abroad this autumn, maybe visiting Britain. To see my English friend, and stay in a nice, small lodging for a several days in a small, quiet town :) For weeks I have been net- surfing to get the informations about staying in the British countryside, then found a very nice lodging. It’s not a hotel but a self- catering holiday house - I have wanted to stay in that kind of lodging for a long time.
But there is a problem. The house I found is a small place, run by a family. Thus it seems they don’t accept credit card - at least about the booking money. And I know that it’s quite troublesome, difficult and takes time to send money abroad. Once I have tried it (not for holiday trip but for other purpose) and it was almost a nightmare. I’m quite ignorant about the system of those self-catering holiday house in UK, or about paying system - how they pay for such small family business?
