On my trip to Britain in October, I visited Fowey, Helford River etc in Cornwall. These are the part of "Daphne du Maurier country" I think. Recently I met a friend who likes her books, and talked much about "Rebecca" and "The Birds". I haven't read these books for years, so I decided to read "Rebecca" again, started reading yesterday.
And found... how gloomy story this is XD It's interesting, but at the same time quite unplesant. The character of Rebecca is impressive, but how could Maxim be so cowardly and unrevealing to his wife?
As for "The Birds", I don't want to reread it for I know it's a very disturbing story. X)
