I don't like the big city
Feb. 7th, 2025 04:00 pmToday I'm going to Tokyo after work to listen to the piano concert. Frankly this is not my choice, my friend has been organizing this concert and asked me to come. I'm looking forward to the concert itself though piano is not my favorite musical instrument, what I don't like is that the concert hall is in the middle of Tokyo.
When I was younger I sometimes went to Tokyo - around Tokyo station, Shinjuku, Shinbashi etc - there are many busy downtowns in Tokyo - after work to eat out with friends working in Tokyo, or to go to the concert hall, art museum or movie theatre, at least once or twice a month. But as I get older more and more I became dislike Tokyo - here I mean, the big city. There are too many buildings and too many people in any downtowns in Tokyo. Of course there are many smart, fashionable and attractive shopping areas or amusement places in Tokyo but most of them are made with "marketing" strategy to make many people enjoy and spend money, everythings seem to be so ... artificial. Also those places are always for a mass of people, naturally they are always crowded and I don't like the crowded, noisy place :(
So, I'm not happy about going to the hall in Tokyo today. But I might be able to see my friend again after months, also I heard the pianist is really good. Let's see...
