cat and racoons

There is a security camera outside of the entrance door of our house. It records continuously, and when I checked the recorded video, sometimes I find our garden cats walking around or relaxing on the ground. Recently I watched the video and found one of our garden cats relaxing on the concrete paved space at the entrance to the house after midnight, his eyes were glowing in the dark. Then! Suddenly 2 animals, far bigger than cat appeared in the video! They passed in front of the cat and walked into our garden !!! And the cat was just watching them walking through, both of them showed no particular interests in each other, it seemed. The 2 animals looked to be racoons, 3 minutes later they came out of the garden and walked back - again passed right in front of the cat and gone. X( X( X(

At least I felt relieved to see the cat and racoons kept the distance (but just 1.5 meter!) and showed no aggressive attitude. But, I wonder, for what the racoons have been to my garden!?!?
