In summer, here in Japan, the humidity is high, the combination of it & the high temperature plaques us much. But in winter, around Tokyo area the weather is generally fine, we have many sunny days and the air becomes very dry. This too dry air often causes fires, the flue going around, crack with static electricity everywhere and my fingertips easily chap. In my room I always turn on the humidifier, often apply the hand cream still my hands get dry and rough. Now I have to put Band-Aids on my 2 or 3 fingertips. this is quite inconvenient when I want to do something with my hands :( I like winter sunny days but we need some humidity now... :(

Still, the nature is beautiful under the blue sky. These are the photos Itook yhis morning on my way to the office.

I have very dry hands and bought some 'Gloves in a Bottle' (https://www.glovesinabottle.com/) which bonds with the skin to form a shield, so the hand's natural moisture gets a chance to work. The bond lasts about 4 hours even through handwashing, so I put it on every 3-4 hours. My chapped flaking knuckles are now smooth, and my fingertips feel nice too!

I actually bought it because some yarn I was knitting with was leaving dark dye on my hands (it still did, but it was easier to wash off), but I'm so happy that it's cured my dry hands! I bought it from a local online pharmacy here. Maybe you can find it in Japan.

Maybe there's a Japanese or Korean version that shields the hands. Worth a look!

Great and colourful photos!
Ah, dry hands, don“t tell me. I use such an ointment with bee wax - it works at least for me. I wrk physically and my palms are callused - no expensive cosmetics are helpful:-)

Wisconsin is VERY dry in winter and I usually have cracked fingertips by November. But this year I have prevented it. 1. I put on thick hand cream and wear cotton gloves to bed (I hate this, but it really is helpful). 2. In the kitchen I wear rubber gloves, even if I don't plan to put my hands in water, because often I change my mind! Keeping the hands away from water is important. 3. I bought a supply of these finger covers and I am wearing them on my thumbs, where I usually get bad cracks, most of the day. These fit tightly and allow me to work normally.

I seldom have trouble with the dry air, except for a slight effect on my breath.

Lovely colors in your pictures:)
