In summer, here in Japan, the humidity is high, the combination of it & the high temperature plaques us much.
But in winter, around Tokyo area the weather is generally fine, we have many sunny days and the air becomes very dry. This too dry air often causes fires, the flue going around, crack with static electricity everywhere and my fingertips easily chap. In my room I always turn on the humidifier, often apply the hand cream still my hands get dry and rough. Now I have to put Band-Aids on my 2 or 3 fingertips. this is quite inconvenient when I want to do something with my hands :(
I like winter sunny days but we need some humidity now... :(

Still, the nature is beautiful under the blue sky. These are the photos Itook yhis morning on my way to the office.

Some users like it very much, but some people with sensitive skins said it has made their hand rougher. Generally the foreign made cosmetics or cream tend to be stronger than the Japanese ones so we have to be a bit careful.

Date: 2024-12-17 07:22 pm (UTC)Ah, dry hands, don“t tell me. I use such an ointment with bee wax - it works at least for me. I wrk physically and my palms are callused - no expensive cosmetics are helpful:-)

But it was a bit sticky and not good on daytime - to touch the computer keyboard etc. So now I usually use the onc which makes my hand smooth, and just before going to bed use more creamy one.

Date: 2024-12-19 12:29 am (UTC)Now I know everywhere in the world people suffer from the dry air and cracked fingertips. We often wash our hands with soap, especially after the pandemic, and this might wash the essential sebum away too from our skin, I believe. Though we can't help but washing our hands from time to time in our modern life. Very difficult...
