The northernmost city

I’m now on my summer trip to Hokkaido, the northern big island, and staying in Wakkanai, the Japanese northernmost city. Today I have kayaked on a small river, then walked in the wilderness with the local guide. It’s fine and hot, frankly too hot for Wakkanai. But compared to the summer heat in Yokohama, it’s not the problem at all, and first of all here the humidity is not very high. I enjoyed the activities very much. But I’ve done all of them under the sunshine… now at 23:00 I’m very tired and need to go to bed. Of course this is the good tiredness :)

Lovely! How humidity makes all the difference - I've been in over 42C in Israel, but it was so dry it didn't feel that hot. Enjoy your holiday! How long are you there?

Haha, this is just 4 days trip. But I’m fully enjoying my stay :)

Yes! When I kayaked on the river, at the end of the trip we arrived at the beach facing this island with beautiful mountain. This is Rishiri island, and we call the mountain Rishiri Fuji from its beautiful shape similar to Mt. Fuji.

Oh, this is a beautiful view! There are so many varied and beautiful places in Japan! I am glad you went on the trip.

I heard this mountain on the island, Rishiri Fuji, is often covered with clouds and they can’t see it from the shore of Hokkaido. So I was quite fortunate :)
