The temperature has dropped. Tiny flakes of snow have kept falling since morning, then the flakes became a bit bigger during the daytime. They wetted the ground but thankfully all melted, still it's very cold today. But this may be good for the air has been too dry for weeks - at least here in Yokohama. In many places in Japan this winter they have had too much snow which has already killed about 40 people. So I can't complain about such small amount of snow :( With the falling snow it's rather dark all day.

Anyway I have picked some flowers in the morning, those winter flowers give me joy :)

And in our own garden finally the Ume (Japanese apricot) tree began to show its beautiful small flowers, their scent is wonderful.

I lived in 水上 and I still remember people raking snow off of their roofs. Crazy.

Elsewhere, up to 70 cm of snow is expected in Niigata Prefecture and Kinki and Chugoku regions, 60 cm in the Hokuriku region, 40 cm in Hokkaido and the Tohoku area and 30 cm in Nagano Prefecture, NHK reported.

Wow, that’s pretty epic. I peeked at the Japan times to get context; and 70cm is pretty huge regardless.

I didn’t quite get the rant at the end, but now understand there is voting on Sunday, amongst the cleanup. 💯 agree that it’s ill timed.
