Old year, New year
Jan. 1st, 2017 04:30 pmNow we are in the New Year! 2017!
I hope this new year will be the happier, peaceful one for everyone!
Yesterday afternoon my sister and her family came here to spend New Year's Eve and theNew Year's Day with us as usual. It's our tradition to have the New Year's Eve feast on 31th Dec. In Japan, some people have the main feast on the New Year's Day unlike us ... this difference depends on which area the family has come from, I think.

(Left: our supper on 31th Dec. Right:brunch on 1st Jan. On the New Year's Day we have Toso, some kind of spiced sake with that japanned pot & cups.)
The first day of 2017 is a fine, rather oddly warm day. When I opened the window in the morning one of our homeless cats was on the roof of my neighbour's house, looked to be quite contented XD

After the brunch we took some photos of all of us family together - it's the tradition of our family. Today we did it outside, on the sunny terrace. Mr.Uma and my sisiter's rabbit Noa of course joined us. Mr.Uma has been a good boy all the while on my mother's lap.

We ate much, enjoyed a jigsaw puzzle(rather big and difficult one!), one of my nieces played her shamisen, three-stringed Japanese instrument. This is a very peaceful New Year's Day, I'm thankful for this :)
