Summer flower, and thought
Aug. 6th, 2019 12:27 pmThe summer heat. In our garden the forst lily in this summer begin to bloom. To me this white flower is the symbol of midsummer.

This heat and strong sunshine is somewhat inseparable with the memory of War - more exactly, the memory of defeat and tragic aftermath, and the memory of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, in our Japanese mind. In the morning of today, 6th Aug, of 74 years ago The whole city of Hiroshima and a hundred thousand of people were burnt. My dear Americans, if you think this bombing was “necessary” you understand nothing about atomic bombs. We won’t blame You for your ignorance, but the laziness to ignore the truth and the history should be blamed. And now such laziness not to look squarely the reality of war, the tragedy of victims seems to fill the world, of course and sadly here in Japan too. So we need to remember Hiroshima every summer, not only to grieve the lost lives but to build the better future. Today many TV programs or newspaper articles feature on the tragedy 74 years ago.
