I took a day off.
During these last months I have spent much time just sitting In front of my computer. The only physical exercise I like is walking, so I decided to have a “walking day”. I went to Kamakura, a small city surrounded by the sea and hills, the old Samurai capital in 12 - 13th century, it’s 25 minutes train ride to go there from Yokohama. There I met a friend who lives in Kamakura, with her I visited two famous temple - they are not as big and beautiful as the ones in Kyoto because Kamakura is a city of Samurai (worriers) who had preferred the simple & strong style to showy and elegant style. But I love the quiet beauty of these small shrines.

(Jo-myo-ji temple)

(Sugimoto temple)

(The old stone steps with beautiful green moss in Sugimoto temple. To keep these steps and moss now we can’t walk on them.)
Then we went to a nice cafe in the quiet residential area. We had nice lunch on the outside table in a small but nice garden. It’s a bit cool but not chilly, eating and chatting outside was comfortable and enjoyable.

The name of this cafe is “cafe Kaeru”, kaeru means frog in Japanese. I saw many frogs ! XD

(My lunch. Many colouful vegetables on rice. Healthy and yummy!)
I haven’t walked much long distance as I’ve expected for my friend happened to have some pain, but it’s an enjoyable day of walking & chatting :)
