Uneasy days. The number of the Covid new cases is now the biggest, the hospitals and medical systems are almost collapsed. Recently two of my co-workers have got the virus, one of them who has just returned to the job told us that his condition has been officially "a mild case" but he has suffered very much. His story somehow frightened me. Now I go to the office every other day, and in the recent terrible summer heat walking to the office is not a good idea, I need to take the crowded public transportations. I really have to be careful - for my old mother. In early summer the Covid situation was quite calm here, we felt somewhat safe & free and enjoyed trips, outing and eating out etc... and now in the summer-vacation season, suddenly we need to be very cautious. People has continued wearing masks and sterilizing the hands all the while still the new variant seems to be quite contagious. Last summer we have had the big "wave" of infection, many patients could not enter the hospitals and died at home, and the number of the cases then was far less than the current number. And what is our government doing? The statements by the government and the authorities show how unreliable they are. They are just crazy about the power game, and try to waste taxpayer's money for their self-satisfaction. The state funeral for Abe in such time when poor people are in serious trouble to get food in the recent inflation, and Abe is just the man who has made the gap between rich and poor widest in Japan. If our government is going to use the state funeral as the opportunity to negotiation for the world peace, just in that case I can agree with them, though I don't believe they can make Putin visit Japan for the funeral. Waste. And meaningless. Things are so unreasonable, unfair and dirty. This is really the third-rate country... Sorry friends, this is just grumbling. Things are always like this in any time, any country maybe. I'm not in the worst country and I myself have no serious financial or other problems, I'm very much thankful for it. Maybe I'm just tired of the summer heat and frightened with the current Covid situation. Uneasy, anxious days. Well... anyway this it Friday afternoon. I should think of something nice for the weekend... “So what? We don’t care…”

How sorry I am to hear that covid is so bad in Japan. We do have rising cases but we have more pressing things on our minds, so we somehow do not care - the cases have not been as serious as before, at least so far...
Ah, my Puma friend knows how to make faces!:-)
