katriona_sYesterday, Saturday. I woke up very early and left home before 7am with mother to visit our family grave in Suwa city, Nagano prefecture. Suwa is my late grandfather’s hometown, now no relatives live there but our family grave is on the hillside looking down Lake Suwa and Suwa town. It takes about nearly 4 hours to go there from home so I visit there just once or twice a year, mostly in early summer or in autumn. (The grave is in the graveyard belongs to the big local temple, usually they take care of the graveyard. So whenever we visit there we say hello and thank you to the priest and his family, offer some money.) Yesterday it was first cloudy and rather gloomy, but in the afternoon the weather has become better. It’s very comfortable to be at our family grave. We weed around the grave, offer some flowers and incense sticks. It’s quiet there, some leaves have begun to turn red or yellow around the graveyard.

Yesterday my sister who lives in Tokyo was with us. She drove the rental car from the local train station so after visiting the grave and lunch we visited the Kirigamine highland near Suwa by car. When we arrived there it’s fine and the view from the highland was just wonderful!

We could see beautiful mountains and Mt.Fuji.
This highland is famous as the ground for glider, we saw many people enjoying the flight. Very impressive!
We have not worn the very warm clothes so it was chilly there on the highland, but we enjoyed the view and the cool mountain air very much!
After driving down to the town and return the car, we had light supper in a restaurant near the train station, took the express tran to come home. When we came home it’s after 22:00 and we were tired. But we visited the grave, enjoyed driving and mountain view, and talked much with sister so it’s a very good day :)
But, of course someones were not happy. My rabbit Krurun has been locked into the cage for more than 15 hours and her supper was very late. The garden cats were almost mad because they couldn’t get their evening food - usually mother feed them around 5pm XD Just one cat appeared outside of the window of my mother’s room and got food from her, it was about 10:30pm. Sorry! XD
