Snow!

The weather forecast had warned the snowfall on Monday afternoon since last week. In our area, around Tokyo, we seldom have snowy day - about once or twice an year so we are not accustomed with it. And once it comes, it’s quite wet snow, very different from the snow in the northern areas. Also the around 0 °C temperature does not continue here, those snow soon melts and makes dangerous icy surfaces everywhere. In a word, snow makes quite dangerous situations here.
It has started before noon today. Today it’s been gloomy. We were in the office, and noticed it started snowing. It stopped sometimes but started again.

When I left the office after 18:00 the ground was covered with the sherbet-like wet snow and very slippery. I need to walk very carefully. After I came home I opened the window to see our garden was covered with snow, around 19:00.



Unfortunately we (my co-workers and I) will have some outdoor job in rather early time tomorrow morning :(. X(

You really did get some snow!

I understand about the melting and freezing. A perpetual problem here, most of the winter. We are unusually warm this winter, so we're seeing less ice than usual.

Yesterday it was a kind of mess, especially the public transportation was much confused. But fortunately most of snow seems to be melted yesterday, and today it’s fine. I expect most of the places get dried now.

Oh yes, this must be quite hard for you. I believe the snow will not last because of the temperatures but this "sherbet" is very unpleaant. So be careful. And put on something warm, don´t forget gloves and a hat!
I wonder if this was enough for the cats to hop in your warm shelters!

YesterdayI have been out all day for the job but mother said that one of our garden cats,the Puma one, had stayed just in out of the window of my other’s room, clearly expected to get into the room. So mother put the new cardboard cox out of the window and he had stayed in it for hours…
